Hi Ann, I thought I’d write and say Hi as I always enjoy your column. I have visited France every year since my son moved there three years ago to work as a chef in a Michelin star restaurant. Last year he married a french girl, so I love learning more about France, the language, the culture and the food.
Last year, I launched a clothing label called Verily, which I sell to select shops as well as on line at http://www.verily.com.au. It is designed for the 30 plus woman and is perfect for travelling. I have tested the styles myself (in some of the places you love; Paris, Gordes, Uzes) and they are great to roll into a bag, hangup and wear anywhere.
If you see anything you like on the website, let me know I would be happy to supply at cost price, so you can wear ‘Verily’ on your trips. I work from home in Buderim, so if you’d like to try anything on, call me on 041776142, cheers, Leonie
Last year on my trip to the UK, I was supposed to stop off at France for a while but unfortunately it never happened. In anticipation of seeing France, my dad turned up with your book Ooh La La! A French Romp, for me. He loves rumaging through book shops and after seeing those sexy legs on the front cover and reading a few pages, he thought how much I might enjoy reading it. I finished your book a couple of months ago and came across it in my cupboard just recently and felt compelled to tell you how much I enjoyed your adventures!! Far out – I would love to go on one of your trips. Not only could I intensely visualise the places you stayed and toured with your guests, I could smell the food you so deliciously described and my mouth watered on more than one occassion! What a wonderful team you three make. Maybe one day when my kids are older and have flown the nest, I might just book myself in…..thanks for your wonderful adventures!!! Lexi.
Hi Ann
Please send me your itinerary for speaking engagements – missed you on the gold coast earlier this year. I live on the Coast, and but would love to attend another of your sessions wherever they may be. Love all your books.
thanks and regards
Dear Ann,
I have just finished reading Ooh La La! A French Romp it is all I need for our upcoming trip to France in late August early September.
We only have 2 weeks in France. We plan to spend 5-7 days in Paris and then, seeing as we only have limited time, we have picked one region to explore. We chose Provence.
Your book is so rich and real to me. I have planned my itinerary in Provence around it. We plan to visit St Maximin and will definately go to see the famous Maison de Maitresse and hopefully spy the voluptuous Amanda. I doubt she will be hard to miss.
So within the spirit of your book, I will be sure to wear something low cut and colourful. Whilst I do not share the ample proportions of some of your characters I shall proudly push up what I can.
I hope you are still very much living this amazing demi french life. It was truly inspiring to read.
Hi Ann,
A friend gave me your book to read (Not another Greek Salad” which I enjoyed immensley, as all books written about Greece…
You mentioned a place in Noosa with Greek columns where shows are sometimes held. I am in Oz for 6 weeks and heading to Noosa for the first time this year. Can you tell me where it is and if your friend is still doing shows of any sort? I am heading up next month dates unspecified at this stage.
Just getting away from our cold winter in South Island as not on tour until September in Greece this year. Look forward to your reply.

So glad to receive your newsletter – have missed it terribly. Now when it arrived it was in a different format than previously with main newsletter on the left and down the right hand side personal bits about the grandkids but no pictures. I had to click on boxes to get pictures. As soon as I did that whole screen changed and I got the newsletter bit with pictures but bit about grandkids had totally disappeared and now I can’t get that bit at all. What have I done!! How have I managed to lose all this information that I was dead keen to see i.e. pictures of grandkids. Have explored your website and can’t find lost bit anywhere. Beginning to think I might have dreamt it was there at all.
We enjoyed your story “Water Whiskey and a Wedding” N.N. September 10.
It reminded me of my own journey to the Uk. (from Perth) on the Southern Cross in 1957…….. the
ship packed with young Aust. & N.Z all off to London. Amongst them was the young man (now
older man)from Melbourne with whom I celebrated 50 yrs. of marrriage last year.

Morning Ann,
I just finished Flash and Brash with fries on the side, and loved it. Here in Christchurch NZ we are all a bit ‘jangled’ after the quake, your book provided a much needed distraction, I am hoping to find the others once our library reopens.
On a slightly different note, regarding pharmacies and their interesting products, my daughter is a first year midwifery student, she was recently in a pharmacy that also sells homeopathic items that there were ‘placenta’ pills. Here in NZ some mothers keep the placenta to bury somewhere significant, but what do you suppose your ‘condition’ is that you require placenta pills?
Regards.
Hi Ann
Found a copy of your book “Not another Greek Salad” at work. Not realising the value of what I had found, it sat on my shelf for a little while until I noticed it and decided to read it. Glad I did, you are a crack up. I always wanted to go to Greece and you describe it so well. It was a good read and a good laugh. I always wanted to travel and didn’t get to much, and it never occurred to me to read travel novels. So I now have a new reading interest to explore. Thanks. Was up at Sunshine Coast on weekend and had hoped to get to Noosa Botanical Garden to see the Amphitheater, but husband said it was “too far away”. ha ha. Next time.
Have just read Flash & Brash also, very entertaining. My kids think I’m mad as I sit and giggle my way through your books. Anyway hoping to get a copy of your first book about Italy when it becomes available. In the meantime, thought I’d buy 1 of the others, but not sure about the price information. Is it 22.95 or 27.95? And is postage extra or included?
Hoping you will have a book launch on the Gold Coast and I will see you there!!
Thanks and thanks for the entertainment!!

Hi Ann – I so enjoyed the book launch in Sydney last Friday and did, in fact submit my expression of interest in joining your group to France in 2011 as we discussed on the day. Hoping to hear from you very soon regarding the same.

Thanks for spelling it out Ann. The Sunshine Coast is the most awe inspiring place on the planet. Just go for a walk in the early hours of the morning at the oceans edge and breath in the pristine air; as well as take in the pristine views. I am convinced that God’s plans were perfected here. I agree “It’s spot-on here”. I am priviledged to live here, to breath the air I breath here and to have family and friends to share it with. Guess where my extended family are coming for Christmas this year!!!
I’m in the middle of Ooh La La and LOVE it! I was in Provence 5 years ago and did not have such FUN as your tour. Where can I buy your books in the US? I especially want to get yur new one!
Hi Ann – I have just finished your first three books, and when the last one ended I was devastated. I am so excited to find there are another 3 to read. And now I know what to get my girlfriends for Christmas.
PS. I love Geoffrey. He reminds me so much of my adorable, patient husband (though mine is thin, the sod). We are lucky women.
PPS. Upset to learn I missed your book launch in Sydney. I would love to see your next Sydney function.
LOve your books wondering when you will be in Melbourne to promote your new book. Would love to see you. If you can tell me where you will be it would be great.

Just finished reading “The Last book about Italy” loved it a lot. My hubby and I are off to Italy for our first visit in April/May to some of the places you covered in that book. I’ve just started reading ‘The Last Book About Italy” (I know, why has it taken me so long??), and although I’m only at page 23 I’m already laughing and nodding my head in agreement (we also walked out of Harrods after seeing the absurd prices for a quick snack – loved the London cabbies though!).
Hi Ann
Love your books blah blah, thing you are hysterical…BUT please tell me…you talk all the time about all the booze you drink and food you eat. How is it that you are not the size of a hippo. I often keep you in mind as I sip the last of a whole bottle of wine and finish off a round of cheese with crackers and I think “Well if Ann can do it in France….” . So, are you exaggerating or do you just have super good metabolism???? You always look fantastic, not like someone who indulges in booze and cheese as often as you say.
Anyway, sorry to hear about your difficult time. But dont forget how fortunate you are. I have wanted to travel since I was about 7 and my 3rd grade teacher came to school with slides of Pompeii. But somehow life didnt turn out that way and have never been too far at all. Maybe one day, but wish it was this day… So I am often green with envy at all the places you get to go. I know you aren’t saying, but I notice you said you had an issue with a friend and I was highly suspicious when reading your blog of last tour in France, there was not ONE mention of your “friend” Amanda???? None of our business but then again you are amongst friends and you can tell us! Well all the best to you, hope to meet you one of these days if/when you come to Gold Coast or I come to Noosa and run into you at one of those lovely restaurants up there.

Hi Ann, I’ve met you several times around the “traps”. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your piece in the Noosa News on the 5th August. You magically transported me that fabulous Greek beach! Love the blog as well. Cheers, Angela
Hi Ann l have just returned from 7 weeks on the Greek islands with my partner Jim. Your book, Not another Greek Salad jumped off the shelves and onto my bedside table . l lay reading it for 3 days as l recoverd from a particularly nasty bout of tonsilitis. ( or perhaps l did not feel ready to return to the mundane routine of life) Anyway your trip just took me back. We spent a week in Chania, then a month in Paros in a little villa up on a hill. We strolled to the nearby taverna and swm in an isolated little beach with a few locals to chat to.
Finally we spent a week in Santorini in an hotel right on the rim ( much too expensive or our budget, but then we thought oh well we saved lots of money in the villa on Paros.)
The similarities to your trip and the fun l had reading it gave me great joy. Now l am planning to take a group of artists to Positano in 2012, and l am turning 60. Life feels pretty marvellous. Warm wishes from Jan Taylor Phillip Island Vic. Australia.
I read your column the other day about people moaning and how you were over it and all the things there are to be happy about! It was just what I had been thinking and your list so made me laugh – I wanted to tell you. Then you popped up as following me on Twitter! I am not sure if you knew it was me who you met at Cooroy Library earlier this year? I am still writing..although now a Brunette! There is a blog about that! Would love you to go check out http://www.noosalifeandstyle.blogspot.com again. There are so many stories around here I want to write about..I am still as in love with it all as ever!
Thank you for wondeful take on life and enthusiasm…and for any advice on turning my passion into a paid one! x Kylie Rowe
Ps – Have tried to follow your advice on Edit Edit Edit..I hope you can notice!!!
Hi Ann
Some time ago I asked if you would like to be our One Book ONe Burnside author for 2012 at the Burnside Library.
2011 was once again very successful.
You agreed to come along in September and we thought we would do a whole day around a french/mediterranean theme – we have a french Cultural day every year which is very well attended – 1600 through the door .
We love OOh La la a french romp so that would be a good one or we could do two and include 3 in a bed in the med.
We would need to purchase 40 copies for the library and there would need to be copies available for sale during the promotion.
I hope to be visiting Noosa next year so hopefully we can catch up and have a meeting to discuss further details.
Looking forward to your confirmation
Hi Ann,
After reading & enjoyng your book, Three in a Bed in the Med, I would like to order three copies to give as gifts…..could you let me know how payment is to be made, and what the postage cost would be for the 3 copies? P.S. I live in Noosaville.
Cheers,
Sue

Hi Ann, I’ve met you several times around the “traps”. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your piece in the Noosa News on the 5th August. You magically transported me that fabulous Greek beach! Love the blog as well. Cheers, Angela
Did you receive my reply Susan? i sent private email?
Australia.
Hey Ann!
Bye from Sharon Downing
Hi Ann,
After reading & enjoyng your book, Three in a Bed in the Med, I would like to order three copies to give as gifts…..could you let me know how payment is to be made, and what the postage cost would be for the 3 copies? P.S. I live in Noosaville.
Cheers,
Sue
