Little Bird Café – Noosaville
The Balinese setting is as tranquil and pretty as it gets, and the newly opened Little Bird Café makes the most of it.
At the Ecom Noosa Business Centre in Eumundi Rd Noosaville, Little Bird Café has taken over the space where once Blue Ginger lived
The green garden setting comes with trickling water features among traditional stone Balinese pots and plantings.
The inside space is just as serene with an assortment of wooden tables and a large wall mural of…what else? little birds.
Open seven days for breakfast and lunch, Little Bird Café is owned by mum of four boys, Lou Thoms and her partner Steve Arnold who also own and operate the popular 10 Hastings St. Café.
This new venture proved irresistible to the couple who lived in Spain and Portugal for some time and have a fondness for tapas and small bites that show creative flavour combinations.
The Little Bird menu is succinct but covers all morning and noon needs.
Breakfast of smashed avocado with goat cheese on sourdough with chilli jam is going to taste all the better as you sit among the tropical green.
Add a cup of locally roasted Little Cove coffee and you’re off to a pleasing start to the day.
Free range poached eggs with hollandaise on Turkish bread are called “Little Bird Benny” just to be different, and come with smoked bacon or smoked salmon.
The brekky roll with bacon and egg on Turkish roll is a quick one, good for breakfast meetings or acatch up with other mums after dropping the little ones off at school.
Lunch time brings out items with quirky names. The Stir Pig is roasted pulled pork with apple and fennel slaw on a Turkish roll with salad.
Miss Moo presents as herb crusted rare roast beef with Noosa Reds, rocket and horseradish cream on sourdough.
We shared at plate of Thai fish cakes with an Asian salad – a generous lunch for one, good for two to share as a starter.
A Caesar salad sticks to tradition but adds chicken breast for a more substantial meal.
The lunch menu is backed by specials. On our visit, meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti, and a red duck curry.
Juices, smoothies and cakes ensure there is something good for every taste.
Locally sourced produce is used and a range of healthy options is available.
Little Bird Café is BYO which adds to its attraction.
The setting is perfect for functions, especially with the festive season upon us.
Lou will work with you to plan individual requirements. Let her take all the work out of your entertaining in the lead up to Christmas.
