Uzes – Table de Julien 2

What a delightful dinner last night at Table de Julien 2 just outside Uzes.  The chef/owner Julien used to operate the tiny café in the village of St. Maximin where we used to base ourselves for our culinary tours.

It was a modest café then, a family operated business with Julien and his charming wife Jennifer.  The food was always good, fresh, beautifully presented.

When Julien left the little village of St. Maximin the locals were devastated.  It was so easy to stroll to the café and eat really good food for a modest price.

When he opened up again in the town of Montaron just outside Uzes he attracted a whole new clientele.  Now it is one of the, if not  THE, best restaurants in the region.

You have to visit Table de Julien when you are in or near Uzes.   Of course it goes without saying we are going to take our guests there when our culinary tour starts in three days time.

Can’t wait to share Uzes and our ever-gaining local knowledge with our guests this year.

Off to eat foie gras now with a glass of pink wine.
