Peppers Lodge Tasmania
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is the only Australian property to make the Lonely Planet Top 10 Extraordinary Places to Stay List.
More than 80,000 author reviewed hotels created the inaugural list which saw the lodge, at the entrance to the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, come in at number five.
Its stunning wilderness setting is complemented by the lodge’s superb variety of contemporary style cabins and suites, an acclaimed restaurant and the Waldheim Alpine Spa which boasts some of the most tranquil views.
The Lodge is encircled by ancient towering forests, mountain scenery and clean glacial lakes and streams, crisscrossed with over 20 walking trails for every fitness level.
Activities include guided or self-guided trekking, mountain biking, horse riding, fly fishing and canoeing. “We’re delighted with our first ever list of top hotels,” LonelyPlanet.com editor Tom Hall said.
Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge will celebrate the 20th year of hosting “Tastings at the Top’ on May 23-24. A scenic two-hour drive from Launceston takes you to the Tasmanian lodge.
